The Frontline Worker Pay application is officially live! Thank you to so many of your organizations for helping get to this place, and thanks in advance for helping spread the word between today and when the application closes on July 22, 2022. I’ve included some talking points, answers to questions, and some suggested social media for you in this email – there’s also a great toolkit online from DLI, including links and graphics. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Talking Points

  • The Frontline Worker Pay application will be open June 8 through July 22, 2022. Eligible workers will have 45 days to apply for Frontline Worker Pay.
  • Applicant support will be available to assist applicants in multiple languages. Apply at frontlinepay.mn.gov.
  • Remember, you don’t have to be first in line when the application opens. The application will be open for 45 days and the funds are not first come, first served.
  • The money set aside for this program will be split equally among all approved applicants after the 45-day application period, the 15-day appeals period and the appeals review period.
  • We encourage everyone to use the resources found in the Department of Labor and Industry outreach toolkit (http://www.dli.mn.gov/toolkit) to help as many people as possible learn about Frontline Worker Pay.

Potential Questions

  • What will I need when I apply?
Access Fact sheet: Application Basics to learn about what information you’ll need when you are ready to apply. The fact sheet is linked on the Frontline Worker Pay outreach toolkit webpages, which are available in English, Hmong, Somali, and Spanish.
  • What do I need to do as an employer?
Within 15 days after the application period opens June 8, employers in a frontline sector must provide notice to all current workers who may be eligible for payments of the assistance potentially available to them and how to apply for payments. An employer notice is available now in English, Hmong, Somali and Spanish at www.dli.mn.gov/notice.
  • Who is eligible?
Eligibility criteria for frontline worker pay were established by the Minnesota legislature and are set forth in the Frontline Worker Pay law. You can review the criteria and guidance in the Frontline Worker Pay information sheet. If you are unsure if you are eligible, you should review the law and guidance and truthfully fill out and submit the application during the 45-day application period.
